With assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Batavia Housing Authority is able to offer subsidized rent to those who qualify. An application is required and prospective residents must meet approved admissions policy. Prospective tenants must agree to financial and criminal records checks as part of the admissions process.
Our three family apartment complexes (on South Main Street, Edward Street, and MacArthur Drive) are for households of three or more people. Our Towers facility is for seniors (age 62 or over) or people with disabilities.
Maximum income limits (at the time of admission) are currently:
1 person - $34,300
2 persons - $39,200
3 persons - $44,100
4 persons - $48,950
5 persons - $52,900
6 persons - $56,800
7 persons - $60,700
8+ persons - $64,650
Rent is based on 30% of adjusted income (or 10% of gross income) up to a maximum of:
$490 for a studio apartment*
$590 for a 1-bedroom apartment*
$675 for a 2-bedroom apartment*
$570 for a 3-bedroom apartment (less utility allowance for those on subsidized rent)
$585 for a 4-bedroom apartment (less utility allowance for those on subsidized rent)
* Studios, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments include cable and utilities!
